IS HALLOWEEN AN OXYMORON??

Since the dawn of time, our parents have cautioned us to NEVER talk to strangers!!! Don't ever take candy from anyone you don't know!! And yet, each year we allow our costumed clad children into the night on Halloween to beg at strangers doors for candy. I ask you....is this an oxymoron of sorts our what???? Yes I know, "But it's Hallloweeeeen"!!! they cry. "Everyyyyybody does it"! Tis true....just about all of us in my generation did it and continue to allow our own children to do it but.......does that make it right?? Or, are we just being politically correct for the sake of our kiddos??? It's something to ponder isn't it? Paige said she likes Halloween better than Christmas! HUH???????? Since when I ask???? I'll have to remember that comment when I'm bustling about and scurrying along to grab alllll those presents that she just doesn't care about huh?Jim finished this scary little scene a few weeks ago and all the neighborhood kiddies think it is just grand! What do you all think??
