BABY OH BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Did I mention that I worked my fingers to the bone all for the sake of a baby boy yet to spring into this world??? It started a couple of weeks ago when I got an invitiation to a baby shower that was less than a month away. The Mom-to-be was registered at Babies R Us but I didn't want to buy something from her registry ; that seemed just too easy! So I went on a maniacal search of quick and easy baby patterns and received so many sweet patterns and links from my devoted knitting friends!!!!! Thank you all ladies!!!! As I searched for the perfect pattern that I could actually accomplish in time, I stumbled upon the pattern for the blue cardy down there. Yes, that's right, down there on my blog a couple of posts previous to this one. Anyway, it was a simple garter stitch with just sewing on the seams of the sleeves and sides and the buttons. Everything went smoothly until I had to seam it; that is when the proverbial S&*T hit the fan! I hated the way this yarn was seaming!!! Leaving all these little bumps along the side!!!! I blocked it and steamed it and tried to put a decorative stitch over the seaming all to no avail!!! WAAAH!!!! Off to the littly pad and the frog pond I went!!! I was in panic mode as it was 6 days b4 the shower! What the hell was I going to do??? Why didn't I just buy something, ANYTHING from BRU????????????Then I remembered that my good friend Isabelle sent me this adorable little cardy pattern that had NO SEAMING!!!!! AH-HA!!!!!! This was it!! This was going to save my sorry, creative, "oh, no!!! No store bought gift for me" A*S!! And here are the results in their glory!!! The hat is missing the pom-pom in this picture and the booties were not yet complete but I managed to pull off a sweater, hat and booties in record time (record time for me anyway!) and the new mommie and all the ladies at the shower just oooohhhhed and aaahhhed over it! Sometimes, I managed to accomplish my best work under pressure! And just LOOOOOK at those A-DORABLE bear buttons!!!!! What could be sweeter!

Awww... Donna! This Baby set looks really gorgeous! You didn a really good job here! Especially under pressure! I am sure the lucky MTB is going to love that set!
I love the buttons! :)
I'm so sorry to hear that you had to send the other cardi to the frog pond - but sometimes us knitters just have to bite the bullet, don't we?
But the "new" one you did now has turned out so amazing, I can imagine so well that the new little owner will absolutely love it! Great work done!
Cute sweater & hat!! I love the buttons, and the color's VERY pretty, too!
You are so talented Donna!!!!!!!!!
(I'd like to try making some kind of sweater. That's a great pattern.)
