PURPLE PEOPLE EATER

Does anyone remember that song??? i must be dating myself with that one! This is a new button that I found at our new Joann's SuperStore! What a great place to finally get buttons locally!!! I must have spent about 40.00 on buttons on my last shopping trip there and these were perfect for the baby jacket!

This is the "loud" baby jacket I was telling all the BK'ers about. No one in this house likes this little jacket; they say the color is ugly! Welp, I have a ton of this yarn left over from a poncho that I made for Paige so I thought I would use some and whip up this jacket. The pattern, titled "Comfy Hooded Jacket", was a freebie from Lion brand and it was easy and the yarn is bulky so it work up in less than 5 hours including finishing time. Okay, okay so it's not the traditional blue or pink that we think of when we think "baby" but I used something from my stash and that made me feel good!

It's going to be a lousy weekend with rain forcasted so I am feverishly going to finish up about 10 pair of booties for Penny's Project. I started another small top downer with more yarn from my stash so I hope to make good progress on that too as Shane is off to Loudon, NH for the Nascar races and DH is working on home projects! Shane is allllll excited about his weekend! He is going with friends of ours, their son and daughter and another friend of Shanes' is joining them. They rented a huge RV for the 3 1/2 hour drive and will have a grand time camping out at the track! So, I'll catch you all on the flip side! Have a great weekend!

I don't think that little sweater is ugly. It is just... different! :)

Reducing the stash is good for the knitter's soul from time to time... eh?

I don't know that song... Oh maybe I know the melody but you know my weakness understanding lyrics... right?

Hi Donna,

Just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed reading your blog. Now I really want to visit New England after reading about the duck boats!

I've never been able to complete the five hour sweater in five hours either, so I loved your comments on that!!

Great blog--great pics, too!

My, his button is so cute... and so is the baby jacket, what a fantastic job you did with it! The colors are so happy and cheerful, and it seems to be totally soft and cozy! Great!
