FAREWELL

Since my last post, which was over a month ago, I have been inundated with stress and fatigue.

I never went back to work after Shane's mono as I just couldn't bring myself to entertain a room full of students with "end of the year itis." There is something very humbling about your first born being so sick that he is admitted to Intensive Care for a case of mono; it really has left me with the wind knocked out of my sails. Since then, he has had his tonsils and adenoids removed and is still healing from that surgery and has graduated High School with honors. Not bad for a child with severe dyslexia who was labeled by elementary teachers as practically unteachable. He is going to Johnson & Wales University in the fall for Culinary Arts and will be working as well.

Paige has also put me in a melancholy mood. She graduated from Elementary School and will be moving on to Jr. High come September. She is more than ready; she just doesn't know it yet! She is very anxious about venturing away from her school where she has been since kindergarten. She will be absolutely fine! Paige, if you're reading this, I know you will thrive and do great things in 7th grade!

We now have 2 chickens! Lucy needed a friend so we got her Ethel. Ethel is beautiful too! Such fancy feathers on both of them! We now get over a dozen fresh eggs each week! The dogs have learned to make peace with their new feathered friends but the hens haven't caught on yet. Ethel gets all charged up and then Lucy, who is usually so passive, gets in on the fun and they chase the dogs out of "their" territory. It's pretty funny to watch!

Jim is out on Temporary Disability for a badly injured knee. He is receiving gel shots and hopes that they will do the trick; otherwise, it will be surgery to repair a torn miniscus and ACL. He is not exactly enjoying his time off however. "Mr. GO-GO-GO" is forced to slow down and take it a bit easy per doctors orders and he refuses to use the cane the doctor gave him. Seems he is a bit "put out" by the suggestion that while he feels better than ever, his knee says otherwise.

I finished an infant pullover in Homespun and completed another square for my Comforter and Joy Ghan. Mostly though, I do the necessary domestic chores and then take a nap! I have so many people under foot that I can't seem to concentrate or get anything done around here!

Lastly, I do believe that this is my last post. I am no longer going to be blogging. While I very much enjoyed sharing my "Drama's" with you all, I am no longer able to commit to giving the proper amount of time to a blog. A blog can be a fabulous thing IF you are dedicated and creative and keep it lively, entertaining and interesting. Sadly, I feel no such ambition any more. My priorities are changing and blogging is no longer a hobby but feels like a chore. So with that said, thank you all to my faithful who are so kind and stop by to say hello and leave me comments! I so appreciated your support for the last year and a half! Thanks too to all those who stop by and don't actually leave a comment but do read my posts! It is great that you take moments out of your day to see what we've been up to here! I may come back someday but for now, I need to move on and devote my energies to other endevours!

Be well!

I totally understand your feelings about blogging. I hope things start to improve very soon. I know you are proud of both your kiddos even though they seem to be growing up too fast. These days of melancholy will eventually fade and pass on to better days, just hang in there for now, and do what you can, and do not stress over what you can't do. You'll be greatly missed in blogland =)
