YOU MET WHO?????????

Ok, so you all know that my 16 yr. old, has a fantastic job working at Al Forno Restaurant in Providence, RI. This restaurant is know for it's superb food and service and is listed as one of the best restaurants in the country. Now, we me be a small, little state but we do get our share of celebrities here especially at Al Forno.

So, last night my little darling was laboring over the apple tarts (he is filling in for a co-worker who is going on vacation; normally, heworks the line and dishes up allll the delectables to the loyal throng). He was concentrating and fiddling and focusing on the filling and fluting of the tarts when he heard a loud voice. As he looked up, here comes............sorry, can't say the name! Al Forno (and I) pride ourselves on the modicum of privacy the stars have come to expect!!!!! Well, he could not believe his eyes! He was flooored I tell you!!!! This is a BIG star who he thinks is just THE BEST. Anyway, this celebrity just walked around the kitchen, greeting the staff, inquiring about what everyone was working on and generally engaging in idle chit chat!!! He could barely utter a syllable as his eyes were popping out of his head but he managed to litterally squeak out a "hi".

Our star is apparently filming a movie here in Rhode Island and has been to Al Forno more than once. He/She (sorry! Have to keep it on the "QT")is also interested in opening up a restaurant in Hollywood as he/shes son wants to be a chef.

He has already volunteered to mentor the celebrity's son in the kitchen LOL!!!

Any guesses as to who the secret star is????????

WHO'S THAT DOGGIE IN THE MIRROR???

Well, this just cracks me up! Here is my sweetie pie who loves to sit on the arm of the couch, stare into the mirror of the curio cabinet, and bark at herself! Of course she thinks she is barking at another, but really, it is just her sweet self! SHe will do this for hours on end if we let her but alas, her incessant yapping DOES begin to grate on the nerves!

MMMM, MMMMM GOOD!

Here is a delicious dish that my son made for a culinary contest at school. It is Braised Beef topped with anchovies and a worstershire/lemon sauce served on grilled french bread!!! OOOOHHHH!! Did I say Yummy yet???? Double yummy considering I din't have to cook it! LOL! Fantastico!!!

PINK CHARITY BLANKET

Here is the charity blanket I have been working on. I love this pattern; sooooo
E-Z!!!! It is in the new Knit-It Mag. and I am using 2 skeins of worsted weight even tho the pattern called for sport weight.

FOOTIES (AKA:MIMI'S SLIPPERS!!!)

Well, my grandmother (Mimi) would be proud! She knitted these slippers for just about anyone and everyone who would wear them! I remember at the time insisting that I hated them b/c they reminded me of old ladies! LOL! And now here I am knitting up the same exact pattern (Thank you Isabelle for pointing me in the direction of this pattern!!!) Well, I must admit that they DO keep my feet warm and at this stage in my life, they really aren't the worst things I could wear around the house are they???????? I asked Paige if she wanted a pair and she looked at me like I had 10 heads and of course said, "Ahhhh........NO...WA!! LOL! Like mother, like daughter I guess! Anyway, these are for you Mimi!
